Train with an Experienced Consultant

Your identified consultant becomes a valuable resource.
The Bureau of Assisted Living (BAL) has developed an option to approve instructors who may not otherwise have the credentials to qualify. Instructor candidates can work with an approved training consultant.
Consultant Evaluations
Your consultant must complete and submit two evaluations on your behalf within the instructor's renewal period.
Consultant Expectations
When choosing a consultant, please ensure they understand what is expected of them so that you get approved as an instructor without any issues.
- Consultants must remain in good standing and maintain licensure throughout the entirety of the instructor's approval to teach.
- Consultant are to act as a resource for training issues, concerns and topic-specific questions.
- Consultants must observe and complete the evaluation form provided by Wisconsin Community-Based Care and Treatment Training Registry for the first class the instructor teaches under this approval period and one training annually thereafter.
- These classes must be taught exclusively by the instructor you are consulting with. Classes cannot be consulted if they are taught by two instructors.
- Consultants must maintain copies of all class evaluations for a minimum of two years.
