"The ability to go out into the community and intern for a community organization was not only exciting but informative and beneficial for my future. In this opportunity I made connections with my mentors and with the community partners they had, was involved in the community in a new way, and was always given opportunities to show my own leadership, and communication skills which boosted my confidence greatly. This program helped develop who I am a student, a future leader and as a member of the community through the connections and content of the Civic Scholars program and my service-learning internship."
