Our Mission

The mission of this program is to provide first generation students with academic, emotional, psychosocial, relational and professional support. This is achieved through engagement with academic, peer, community and professional mentors. BIPOC (Black, Ingenious, Latinx, Asian and multicultural students) are encouraged to participate in New Scholars Rising.

Founded in Fall 2020 by a professor and an undergraduate student, Christine Smith, Ph.D. and Hanette Kamanda, our goal is for you to develop a sense of belonging and thrive at UW-Green Bay.
