The Treasures of Growing older
At the Center on Aging, we recognize the privilege of learning from older adults.
Later life is more than a time of disability or ill-health; it's a time of new opportunity and new moments. Through the Center on Aging, you can join a community of people who celebrate getting older. Our goal is to involve the broader community as we provide education and share knowledge about adult development and aging processes with students and faculty from business, humanities, psychology, nursing, social work and other areas.
An Age-Friendly University
Championing a positive outlook on older age, the Center on Aging is working to help UW-Green Bay be recognized as an Age-Friendly University and become a member of the AFU network. The Center is active in its community outreach, research and support for mid-life and older adults in our region.

Furthering Careers & Education
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of workers age 75+ is expected to grow 97% by 2030. We encourage older people who want to promote their career and education in the second half of life.

Lifelong Learning
We want to increase everyone's access to UW-Green Bay's health and wellness programs, as well as cultural and educational activities. One way we're doing that is through the Lifelong Learning Institute, where you can take a range of classes to continue your learning journey.

Engaging with Our Retirees
One way to support our aging population is to engage with our UW-Green Bay retirees. Through the Retiree Association, you can talk and engage with fellow former UW-Green Bay employees and be recognized for your contributions to the university.

Educating Future Professionals
With an increasing number of older people, there is an increased need for professionals who work with them. Across UW-Green Bay, we're training professionals who can help older people live healthy and joyful lives.

Promoting Research
Each of our professors at the Center on Aging does research to help understand aging in our communities. If you want to learn more about their findings, contact us.

Cultivating Intergenerational Learning
No matter your age, intergenerational learning is important and impactful. At the Center on Aging, we encourage this through programs like Elder Teachings. Here, you can learn directly from First Nations Elders and engage in thoughtful conversations.
Your Career is Calling
UW-Green Bay can help you answer. If you want to work with mid-life and older adults, we offer a range of certificates, degrees and career support so you can achieve your goals.
