Bruce Skovera, MA, LPC, CCATP
Counselor
Bruce Skovera MA, LPC, CCATP is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. He joined the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Wellness Center in 2023.
Bruce provides individual counseling to students in areas of anxiety, panic, depression, relationships, crisis/suicide, stress, changes, and performance.
Bruce obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, and a Master’s Degree from Lakeland College in Community Counseling. Bruce has five years of experience working in crisis counseling, and over six years of experience working in a local outpatient employee assistance program where he specialized in couples counseling and anxiety.
Bruce’s approach to counseling is collaborative and strengths based. He will focus on supportive steps and listening to helping a student’s success grow. Bruce utilizes an eclectic approach based on each student’s needs and presenting issues. He approaches with cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness.
Outside of counseling, Bruce enjoys time with family, listening to music, video games, sports, and cooking primarily barbecue.
