Community Collaboration, Assets, and Needs

In community-based work, the community partner is an equal in the planning, progress, and evaluation. Without the community partner's input, there is no project. The university is not in a position to tell a community what "they" need. There must be a shift in power from the unviersity to power to the community. A framework to follow is to look at the organization's assets.
