Intergovernmental Affairs - Moises Bahena-Martinez

Why I joined SGA: I joined SGA to represent the people of UWGB at the state level as well as aid as much as I can with the governance of the University and its laws.
Goals/What I am hoping to accomplish this year: Some goals I am trying to accomplish this year is to connect representatives with UWGB, either that be through in-person events or me advocating with them throughout the academic year. Secondly, I would work to increase the student’s civic activities through connecting with different student orgs and resources around campus. Lastly, I would advocate/lobby issues that affect UWGB, most importantly, the mechanism by which resources are allocated to different colleges in the UW System.

Why I joined SGA: I joined SGA to find a community on campus, and to work to make my campus a better place. I originally joined and served as senator and treasurer on the SGA on the Sheboygan Campus and was then elected to my new position.
Goals/What I am hoping to accomplish this year: I hope to work with the Sheboygan and Manitowoc Campuses to bring their issues to the main Green Bay campus. My job is to make their voices heard. I am working diligently with the SGAs to provide them with whatever help or assistance they require.

Why I joined SGA: I joined SGA because I am passionate about making a difference in our community. As the Rec and Athletics Chair, I aim to bridge the gap between the student body and the Rec and Athletics department, ensuring effective communication and a stronger connection for everyone involved.
Goals/What I am hoping to accomplish this year: My goals for this year include enhancing the communication between students and the Rec and Athletics department, implementing new initiatives that promote engagement and inclusivity, and ensuring that the needs and interests of the student body are effectively represented and addressed. I am excited to work towards creating a more connected and vibrant community through these efforts.

Why I joined SGA: I joined SUFAC because my older brother told me to join SUFAC to support SUFAC, so I did. I also joined because I was interested in seeing how money is was being spent. Then I ran for SUFAC Chair, which made me work with SGA.
Goals/What I am hoping to accomplish this year: I am hoping to recruit more SUFAC members so we can get a Vice Chair and more members at large by the end of the year.

Why I joined SGA: I joined SGA, to give commuter students a say on campus, and give a commuter student perspective on different topics/issues. I joined SUFAC specifically, because I enjoy working with money, and believe that I can make good financial decisions that will benefit the university and fellow students.
Goals/What I am hoping to accomplish this year: A goal this year is to update the SUFAC guidelines to more accurately reflect what the student body wants, and to help make decisions that will leave a lasting impact for the University and the students.
