Academic Accommodations
The First Step is
to Apply
We're here to help you with academic accommodations.
Your disabilities don't define you, and they don't limit your potential for success. With the right academic accommodations, you can overcome the challenges you face and achieve your academic goals. We're here to support you. Because academic accommodations are not retroactive, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
Apply for Academic Accommodations
Academic accommodations are designed to reduce or eliminate barriers in the learning environment in order to ensure students with disabilities have equal access and opportunity to learn and participate fully in all educational programs. Student Accessibility Services (SAS) has a short, three-step application process to receive academic accommodations. Because accommodations are not retroactive, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
1 Complete the Application
- Log in to GB Access with your UW-Green Bay email and password.
GB Access Login - Complete the application form. Please fill in the form as completely as possible.
2 Submit Documentation
Next you will need to provide documentation of your disability(s), to show that you are eligible for support. It may be a medical, psychological or neuropsychological evaluation. An Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) could be submitted if the diagnostic information and the last IEP evaluation is included. Documentation is medical information that must be provided by a treating professional and needs to have a diagnosis of disability and how it affects you daily.
- If you have documentation, you can upload it as part of the application in GB Access, email it to SAS or bring it into our office, and we will upload it to your application.
- If you do not have access to your documentation at the time of application, please click Save and Upload without uploading any forms. You can log in at any time to upload documentation or send it in at a later time.
- If you need a form for your treating professional to fill out, please use the form linked below.
3 Schedule an Intake Appointment
Once you have filled out the application and uploaded documentation, SAS will send an email to your secure UW-Green Bay email account about needed information, next steps and scheduling appointments.

Alternative Formats
Print materials can be provided in alternative formats for students with the need to remove a reading barrier. One of the most common formats is electronic books.
Alternative Testing
You may qualify for various testing options, like extended time for testing, testing in a distraction-reduced space or use of adaptive software or text enlargement.
Sign Language & Captions
We can coordinate qualified sign language interpreters to interpret for classes and academically related events. We also help provision students with captioned media.
