Jim Kuebler
Jim Kuebler, age 82, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Brewster Village. He was born on August 28, 1932, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the son of the late Howard and Ethel (Nellis) Kuebler. Jim married Nancy Lee on August 26, 1961, in Appleton. He enjoyed traveling, reading, bird watching, classical music and was an avid Packer fan. Importantly, he truly loved his family.
Jim grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School. He also attended UW-Oshkosh and graduated from the University of Illinois. Jim was retired from UW-Green Bay where he was a member of the Planning Department during the years when the campus was being newly built, and later was Director of Facilities Management. He was also a Korean War combat veteran who tried to foster public awareness of "The Forgotten War."
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy; his daughter, Amy Kuebler Myers and Steven Myers; his grandchildren, Samuel Lee Myers, Zachary Parker Myers and Anna Elizabeth Myers; his sister, Patsy (Robert) Koeppen; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Jim will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Mr. Lyle Bruss officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial has been established in Jims' name to benefit the Old Glory Honor Flight Program (4650 W Spencer St, Appleton, WI 54914). Online condolences may be offered at Wichmann Funeral Home
