The University Police Department is an organization like any other, and organizations are regulated through their policies. In order to make sure our department establishes accountability and helps the community thrive, we have policies in place.

University Police Operational Policies
This list is not all inclusive. University Police are in the process of updating all Policies to be in conformance with Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group standards. Policies with a "M" after the number are state mandated.
- 1.1.5 Employee Accountability: establishes guidelines for UW-Green Bay University Police employees.
- Internal Form: serves to provide necessary documentation to address performance, whether positive or disciplinary.
- 1.2.5M Privacy in Locker Room: outlines privacy for University Police employees while using department locker room.
- 1.08M Law Enforcement Authority, Discretion and Jurisdiction: defines the legal authority of UW-Green Bay Police Department personnel to carry and use weapons.
- 1.11M Strip Searches: provides guidelines for University Police Department if and when a strip search is legally necessary. Also establishes guidelines for appropriate conduct of strip searches.
- 1.9.1M Personnel Complaints: outlines procedures for complaints concerning allegations of employee misconduct.
- External Form: use this form for alleged unfair or improper treatment by a University Police Department member.
- Internal Form: for University Police to investigate misconduct by employees.
- 2.1. Shift Selection and Schedule: describes how University Police provides a schedule that benefits the community and their employees.
- 2.2 Court Appearance: establishes guidelines for University officers and employees for scheduling, preparing for and testifying in court cases resulting from performance of their official duties.
- 2.4.4 Uniforms, Equipment, Appearance: regulates the uniforms, equipment and appearance of employees of the UW-Green Bay Police Department.
- 5.1.1M Use of Force: if a University Police employee uses force, an investigator fills out this form for documentation and accountability.
- 6.1.4M Emergency Vehicle Operations: establishes a policy for the operation and use of emergency vehicles by employees.
- 6.3.6M Electronic Recording of Interviews/Interrogations: ensures compliance with state law regarding the recording of adult and juvenile interviews and interrogations.
- 6.3.8M Officer Involved Critical Incidents: establishes guidelines for the investigation of a critical incident involving a University Police Department employee.
- 6.3.7M Eyewitness Identifications: describes procedures for the identification of suspects by eyewitnesses.
- 6.3.9M Domestic Disturbances: addresses incidents of domestic abuse involving a police officer and the enforcement of protection orders.
- 6.24.1M Trespassing: establishes procedures for University Police employees regarding the investigation of complaints alleging a violation of trespass.
- 10.1.1M Records Management: provides information for management of public records, to include the retention, inspection and release of public records and the destruction of obsolete records.
- 10.1.3M Reporting System: defines how University Police shares standardized reporting to the community.
- 10.3.1M Body Worn Cameras: provides officers with instructions on when and how to use body-worn cameras.
Other Policies
- AED: provides information for location and use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on UW-Green Bay campuses.
- Building Access OP-29-21-10 (Amended 1/18/23): establishes official hours for all University buildings and outlines access to those buildings after closing.
- Caregiver Background Check Policy: outlines protocol for all required caregiver background checks for students in internships, clinical education or field placement program.
- Medical Amnesty Policy: seeks to diminish fear of disciplinary and conduct sanctions in such situations and to encourage individuals to seek needed medical attention immediately for students in distress from alcohol and/or drug use.
- Minor Protection & Adult Leadership: protects the safety and well-being of minors that attend our various programs, but also aims to protect adult employees and volunteers.
- Security Camera Policy: regulates the use of security cameras on campus.
