Emergency Housing Options

If you need emergency housing, there are several options across all four counties with UW-Green Bay campuses. Some are general, while others are tailored to specific needs.

Green Bay

  • Freedom House: provides emergency shelter and stability programs exclusively to homeless families - serving single mothers, single fathers, and couples with children.
  • House of Hope: provides emergency shelter and supportive services to parenting youth ages 17-24 and their children.
  • New Community Shelter: provides emergency shelter and transitional living to men and women over the age of 18.
  • St. Johns Ministries: is a seasonal, emergency, last resort shelter for both men and women. There are separate shelters for men and women. The shelter is open from November 1 to April 30.
  • All Seasons Transformation: is a transitional living facility for men. Guests must be able to pay their program fees.
  • Golden House: provides emergency shelter and relocation assistance to individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Safe Shelter: provides temporary housing for families and single adults.
  • Safe Park: provides a place to park overnight for people living in their vehicles. You must register to get the address to the lot.

Manitowoc

Marinette

  • Abundant Life Mission: provides emergency shelter to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. 
  • Haven of Hope: provides emergency shelter and temporary transitional housing to individuals over the age of 18.

Sheboygan

  • Salvation Army: provides emergency shelter and services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Safe Harbor: provides emergency shelter and services to survivors of domestic violence and their children.
  • Sheboygan County Warming Center: provides emergency shelter to individuals experiencing homelessness. The shelter operates from December through April.
  • Founders Club:  provides dorm-style housing in downtown Sheboygan.

Housing On Campus

On campus, we provide housing through our Housing and Residential Education program. It's easy to apply for and offers a variety of options in a safe and very student friendly environment. Plus, you can use financial aid to help pay for housing on campus.
