About Our PFP Minor
Wealth is Health
Money makes people's lives better.
Financial planning is not just about money – it’s about people too. By empowering people with tools and education, you can improve financial wellness so they can achieve their goals. If you have the curiosity and passion to transform people’s lives through money, our minor is right for you!
Join the Club
Regardless of your major, our Personal Financial Planning Association welcomes young professionals who want to learn more about managing money.
Pick Your Major
A minor in personal financial planning expands your options and broadens your knowledge, and pairs well with many majors.
Invest Real Money
Our program works with the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Lab to see two different sides of investing – from investment management to personal finances.
What is Financial Planning?
Because our field is essential to improve people's lives, ethics plays a large part in our work. You’re partly responsible for someone’s financial health, which can help them achieve their life goals. As a financial planner, you develop relationships with clients to provide advice and education in:
- Financial Psychology.
- Retirement savings and income planning.
- Tax and estate planning.
- Household risk management and insurance planning.
- College Planning
- Establishing and wisely using credit.
- Cash and Credit Management.
- Investment planning.
