Design Tech Summer Camps
creative design
Unlock your potential and think outside the box.
Students will engage with S.T.E.M. – science, technology, engineering and math – in these specialty experiential learning camps. These camps will allow students to explore, create, design, tinkering and make friendships with like-minded youth!
2024 Design Tech Camps
Check out the introductory and advanced design technology camps all offered on the UW-Green Bay campus in the Brown County STEM Center. Parents are invited on the last day to see the camper's creation in action.

Cost: $250
This intro course sets the stage for future design tech classes by instructing campers on the basics of tools in software (Tinkercad) and equipment, while developing grade-appropriate projects that have a mix of tight parameters and open-ended creative input. By the end of this class, campers will have confidence in the process of creating Tinkercad designs and outputting them to 3D print and laser cutting. Camp satisfies prerequisites for Advanced & Aquatic Robotic camps offered by Einstein Project.
Intro to OnShape
Dates: July 29 - Aug 2, 2024
Time: 8 a.m.to 11:30 a.m.
Grades: 8-12
Cost: $250
This course teaches campers how to harness design thinking and use professional design software (OnShape), 3D printers and laser cutters. They'll get instruction on specific projects that include open-ended creative input. By the end of this class, campers will have confidence in the process of creating their own designs, outputting them to 3D print and laser cutting. Camp satisfies prerequisites for Advanced & Aquatic Robotic camps offered by Einstein Project.
Advanced: Explore the Natural World of UWGB
Dates: July 15-19, 2024
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Grades: 6-9
Cost: $550 includes daily lunch
How can design make exploring the natural world better? In so many ways! We'll design solutions for being out in the field - from tools for measuring or observing to accessories for carrying the essentials. Campers visit and learn about UW-Green Bay's world-class ecosystems and meet people who study and care for them. They'll see native and exotic plants, local creeks and their aquatic life and more, learning about wetlands, prairies, forests and maybe even an ancient rock outcropping! Prerequisite: Camper must complete Intro to Design Tech or Intro to OnShape course within last 2 years.
Advanced: Einstein Design Inc. + 4-H Engineering
Dates: August 5-9, 2024
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Grades: 6-9
Cost: $550 includes daily lunch
This workshop introduces the "Design Thinking" process in a collaborative team environment - building the skills of a professional problem solver and future entrepreneur. The morning portion of the camp will feature programming with Einstein Project, the student will utilize the design process to help fictitious clients and then create, and test prototypes built for their client's needs. In the afternoon, join Brown County 4-H for hands on fun as we build playable arcade games out of cardboard and other materials. Whether it's an updated version of an old classic or a brand-new game you have created, play your prototype with the other participants, get feedback, make adjustments, and enter it in the final contest for a chance to win a prize. Prerequisite: Camper must complete Intro to Design Tech or Intro to OnShape course within last 2 years.
Advanced: Animation Exploration
Dates: August 5-9, 2024
Time: 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Grades: 6-9
Cost: $250
Stop-motion animation is a great way to explore the art and design of storytelling. Use your digital fabrication skills to create sets, props and characters that come to life one frame at a time. You will need to have a smart phone to run the animation app allowing you to bring it with you and show it off long after the workshop ends. Prerequisite: Camper must complete Intro to Design Tech or Intro to OnShape course within last 2 years.
