
Alicia Thomas
Alicia is a nurse educator who teaches in the BSN program at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Bellin College. Alicia is pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Education at Ohio State University, with an expected graduation in May 2027.
Alicia's clinical experience includes acute care float nursing at Bellin Health Hospital, clinical instruction at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and adjunct nursing faculty roles at Rasmussen University. Her float RN experience covers diverse settings such as adult and pediatric care in clinical decision observation, medical, surgical, cardiac, ICU-critical care, orthopedics, neurology, rehabilitation, behavioral psychiatry, emergency room, OB-labor and delivery, NICU, and pediatrics.
In her teaching role, Alicia leverages her expertise in instructional design and student engagement to enhance learning outcomes. She has developed innovative curricula and assessment tools, and her collaborative approach fosters interdisciplinary partnerships. Alicia is committed to cultural competence and inclusive learning, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment for all students.
Alicia's professional activities include participation in curriculum development, ongoing program maintenance, and various teaching enhancement workshops. She has presented her scholarly work on reducing student engagement in academic dishonesty and is actively involved in service activities within the university and the broader community.
