Cindy Johnson
Hi! My name is Cindy (Lopez) Johnson. I joined the Multicultural Resource Center team at UW-Green Bay in August 2020 and have served as the director since November 2024. I am a proud alumna of UW-Green Bay and the University of Arkansas Little Rock. I have over 10 years of experience working in higher education with students from underrepresented backgrounds such as first-generation, limited income, students of color, etc.
While I was a student at UW-Green Bay, I majored in Human Development and Spanish. I received my master's degree in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas Little Rock in May 2015. As the eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants and as a first-generation college graduate, I have had to navigate many life experiences by myself. I am proud that I have had the opportunity to pave the way for more students seeking to further their education. I know firsthand there are many obstacles that students may encounter during their college journey—our staff in the Multicultural Resource Center are here to help! I am grateful students invite me to be part of their college journeys by helping them navigate college and find their version of success.
Outside of work, I enjoy crafting, volunteering with local non-profits, reading, kayaking, spending time with my loved ones, and traveling. I live in Appleton with my husband, Jake, our daughter, Elena, and our 3 fur-babies.
