MSW Specialization

The UW-Green Bay MSW Program offers an Advanced Generalist area of specialization for all students. Students take the same core courses, choose among an array of electives and are offered a range of field placement options.

• Advanced Generalist (no Individual Area of Emphasis)

Individualized Area of Emphasis

Some students may choose to focus their education to a very specific practice area that may have more defined requirements. These are called individualized areas of emphasis (IAE) and include clinical, child welfare, and school social work, among others.
