Community theatre is active and thriving in the Real North. We boast two beloved theatre organizations and a community choir. Theatre on the Bay and Children's Theatre have been entertaining residents and visitors for decades. West Shore Chorale has been performing since 1981 and has a unique dynamic, connecting community and university members across all age and ability levels. We also create art events and workshops for the community. Come experience a new era of theatre and arts.

Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. With a book adaption by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages around the world.

Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Join the West Shore Chorale

West Shore Chorale is now accepting new members in preparation for the fall concert on Sunday, December 8. Full dress rehearsal Saturday, December 7.

West Shore Chorale has been performing since the 1981, when it was founded by David Giebler. The Chorale has a unique dynamic, connecting community and university members across all age and ability levels. The group is currently directed by Jane Wells. Registration for the fall semester is $35.

Youth Theatre Workshop

Join us June 17-21 at the Herbert L. Williams Theatre!

This workshop is designed to help young performers develop creativity, social skills, empathy and confidence through the performing arts as well as learning the process of auditioning and preparing for a full stage production.
