Learn academic and writing skills from the Learning Center team. Workshops are free and scheduled through the semester. Instructors and student organizations can also request workshops and class visits to help students take advantage of our resources.

Each academic year, our academic success coaches develop workshops to help you thrive.
Navigating College
September 30, 2-3 PM in CL 304 & Online
Are you struggling or questioning how best to succeed in college? Come join us for this workshop where we will discuss the common questions that students who meet with us for coaching have, such as “how do I manage my time or make a schedule?” or “how do I talk to or email my professor?” There will also be time for questions so that you can ask any questions about things that weren’t covered. This session is meant to be informative to help you be successful this semester!
Staying Motivated
October 22, 2-3 PM in CL 304 & Online
Alerts, mid-terms and all the things are happening now that we are mid-way through the semester. Are you noticing that you need some help to stay motivated and stay the course? Come join us for this workshop where we will look at where you are “off course”, how to make corrections in order to get the grade you want, and along the way discuss how to stay motivated to finish the semester strong!
Long Night Against Procrastination

Less Cramming More Studying
Finals are right around the corner and it’s best to get started studying now! Come join us for this workshop where we will discuss how to begin studying for finals now to avoid procrastination, which leads to cramming the night before.
Squash Stress and Test Anxiety
Does the thought of an upcoming test increase your stress and test anxiety? Then this workshop is for you! Come join us for this workshop where we will talk about how to reduce stress and how to manage test anxiety so that you feel more prepared and relaxed for your upcoming exams.
Staying Positive
February 19, 2025
Heading into the spring semester, it’s time to look at your mindset. Maybe fall semester didn’t go as planning so instead of feeling negatively, let’s look at how your mindset and staying positive will help you achieve so many things! Come join us for this workshop where we will talk about what a growth mindset is, where your current mindset is at and how to change your mindset to be positive to start the spring semester off strong! We will also end the workshop by having you create goals for yourself for this semester and look together at how you can achieve these.

Balancing Life
How are you balancing it all? Does it seem like a struggle? Come join us for this workshop where we will talk about work/life balance and how this impacts your schooling. We will discuss some important things to consider heading into the last few weeks of the semester and leave you with a plan for balancing it all.
Catch-Up
Have you fallen behind and it seems impossible to catch-up? Come join us for this workshop where we will discuss how to create a catch-up plan and what things to consider when creating this plan. You will leave this workshop knowing how to create a catch-up plan and/or have one started so that you can begin the process of catching up!
Finish Strong
April 17, 2025
We’re rolling into the end of the semester and all the things are due! You may be feeling overwhelmed or wishing things had gone better this semester. Come join us for this workshop where we will talk about accountability for where you are right now and going forward. We will also talk about time management and organization so that you can use these strategies/techniques to set yourself up for success when studying for finals and finishing all the work for the end of the semester.
