Talentship Award
Recognizing
Excellence
The Talentship Award supports our student musicians.
Established in 1988, the Talentship Award recognizes excellence in music performance for students. No matter your major, this cash award is for full or part-time undergraduate students at college who are 18 to 25 years of age. You must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and play at all five Lakeshore Wind Ensemble concerts in order to qualify for this award.

Audition & Award Information
You can audition on multiple instruments to demonstrate depth of musical preparation. Candidates must audition with a short solo (no accompanist) before the conductor after you submit your application. Selected sight-reading will also be included in the audition. All standard band instruments from the brass, woodwind and percussion families are included as audition options. Special consideration may also be given to keyboard and string bass.
Recipients will be notified in September, and will be announced in October at the first Lakeshore Wind Ensemble concert. The recipients will receive their cash award after intermission at the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble May concert. The award will be forfeited if the recipient does not play for the five Lakeshore Wind Ensemble concerts of the current season.
