Conduct Policy

General Conduct & Disciplinary Procedures

  • Sporting Behavior: Fair play conduct is expected at all times. Transgressions may result in ejection from the Kress Center and suspension of membership.
  • Unauthorized Use: Unauthorized entry, unauthorized use of Kress Center facilities, or fraudulent use of an ID will result in suspension of entry privileges for all involved and will result in additional charges.
  • Outstanding Fines: Outstanding fines or other bills will be referred to university officials for administrative action. Student records can be held pending payment of outstanding bills. The Kress Center reserves the right to suspend membership privileges or refuse entry to persons who have bills outstanding.
  • Food & Beverages: Food and beverages (other than water) are restricted to the hall and front lobby area.
  • Footwear: Street shoes or athletic shoes that were worn outside are not to be used in the gyms, pool area, Room 130, weight rooms, or in the shower and drying areas of the locker rooms.
  • Smoking: Smoking or vaping is not allowed in the building.
  • Appeals: Any disciplinary or other action taken by Kress Center staff can be formally appealed in writing to the building manager. If a satisfactory conclusion cannot be reached, appeals will be forwarded to the Director of the Kress Center.
  • Policy Issues: Problems arising from policy or procedures can be discussed at any time by contacting the building manager.

Student Guest Policy

  • Up to 2 guests at a time may be sponsored by a UW-Green Bay student to use the Kress Center facilities. Non-student members may not sponsor guests.
  • Photo ID is required for proof of the guest's age.
  • Guest Pass: A guest pass is required for each guest per day they visit. For guest pass rates, see membership fees.
  • Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older) and participate in the same activity as the adult. Minors cannot be left unattended. 
  • Guests are not allowed to bring unattended children. All children regardless of age must also pay a guest fee.

Child Policy

Facility Usage by Children & Minors

The Kress Events Center is dedicated to providing recreational opportunities primarily for students, adult community members, and guests. Please note the following policy regarding minors:

  • General Use: The Kress Events Center does not offer structured activities for young children. Its primary function is to serve college students, adult community members and guests.
  • Fitness Center Access: Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in the fitness center (cardio deck, weight floor) at any time.
  • Guest Access: Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and participate in the same activity as the adult (18 or older). Supervising adults must purchase a guest pass when supervising minors. A maximum of 2 guests per adult is allowed. Minors cannot be left unattended while the adult is recreating.
  • Membership Requirements: All children, regardless of age, must pay a guest fee. Children must join under their parents’ membership; at least one parent must be a member. There are no individual memberships available for children under the age of 18.
  • Unattended Children: Guests are not allowed to bring unattended children.

Failure to Follow Rules

Failure to follow rules may result in:

  • Removal from the Kress Events Center
  • Forfeit of fees to the Kress Events Center
  • Permanent revocation of guest pass privileges

Unlawful Entry

  • All members and guests must check in or pay a guest fee at the front desk before entering fitness center, gym and pool facilities.
  • Failure to comply could result in membership suspension and a possible fine per Physical Security Compliance UWS Code 18.08(6)
