Essential Job Functions

The University Reservations & Events Manager is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of all programs and services supporting events and functions in the University Union and supported areas on the campus.  This position serves as a main campus administrator for our campus reservation system. This position assists with the development and implementation of University Union policies, procedures, and goals as they relate to the mission of the Union. This position reports to the Associate Director - Union Operations, and works cooperatively with other professional staff and students in accomplishing the operational, programmatic, services, and student development goals for the organization. This position will meet with internal and external customers to plan successful events and engage with the client before, during and after each event. This position will work, in collaboration with others, to create a safe and inclusive environment for all UW Green Bay students where all feel a sense of place and pride.

What You'll Do

  • Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy.
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.
  • Serves as primary campus contact for electronic calendaring system (EMS).
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the budget and approves expenditures.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree at time of application
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in College Student Personnel or related field
  • 2 years of experience in university operations, event management and/or hotel conference services
  • Experience operating sound and light production equipment
  • Experience with electronic calendaring systems (EMS, 25 Live, etc)
  • Experience computer assisted drawing programs (Meeting Matrix, Social Tables, etc) 
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Oneida, or Somali

Conditions of Appointment

Position is a full-time, Academic Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Compensation and Benefits

SALARY INFORMATION

Salary range of $52,000-$56,000. 

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


BENEFIT DETAILS

The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
