Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Business and Government Outreach Manager withing the Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Training. Responsibilities include the development and delivery of business training, the creation of new programs based on regional data and the needs of the workforce, and staffing such activities with potential instructors. The primary focus of this position will be to expand the custom training offered within the division through business partnerships and the evaluation of the ever-changing needs of the workforce. 

The position will assist with department policy development and organizing resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the University and the local community and will strive to expand diverse audiences' access to programs, facilities, and educational services. Performs business and industry research when identified as a potential need or area of growth for the department and explores and identifies grant opportunities in the business community for potential submission. 

Coordinates and drives the outreach and marketing initiatives for the Business and Government Team and will be responsible for meeting annual growth goals within the custom training area. Tracks and monitors outreach efforts conducted through various communication channels and will require strong customer service and responsiveness skills. Maintain a calendar of outreach and engagement events and supports visibility in the business community for UWGB. 

What You'll Do

  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program.
  • Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program.
  • Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members.
  • Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials.
  • Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending.
  • Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in supporting external business relationships through consistent communication. 
  • Experience working within a sales environment.
  • Strong written communication and administrative skills with a high level of detail. 
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and independently in a high-volume work setting. 
  • A valid Wisconsin driver's license and a working vehicle to travel and ability to obtain driver authorization through the University.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional experience. 
  • Experience in organizational development and/or project management. 
  • Demonstrated success in launching and maintaining collaborations and partnerships.
  • High level of computer proficiency and ability to use database, spreadsheet, web conference, presentation, and word processing software applications.

Conditions of Appointment

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. The work hours for this position will be 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule, subject to approved telecommuting request.

Occasional night and/or weekend work. Travel is required for meetings, trainings, conferences and between campuses. 

Continuing Education & Workforce Training supports the entire 16-county region. Team member may have flexibility to work from the Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Marinette, or Green Bay campus as needed.

A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the University does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record.

Compensation and Benefits

SALARY INFORMATION
Minimum salary of $45,000

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BENEFIT DETAILS
The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
