Essential Job Functions
This position reports to the Director of IT Support Services and is a hybrid position, responsible for multiple areas of responsibilities in Information Technology, including AI Specialist and IT software training. This position works collaboratively with all of the IT departments and campus stakeholders to provide AI support and IT training in alignment with the strategies of the IT Division and the UW-Green Bay mission. The responsibilities of the AI Integration Specialist are to support staff, faculty and students with the integration of AI into their job duties and learning practices and to help the university with its digital transformation changes attributable to AI. The IT trainer responsibilities include the preparation, updating, and delivery of professional development instruction to staff, faculty and students for varied software applications to enhance adoption and innovation for the university.
What You'll Do
- Drive, develop and enhance AI professional development initiatives to assist with AI adoption and innovation.
- Design, develop, test and deploy AI systems and applications to promote innovation, stream-line processes and promote digital transformation.
- Develop, maintain and update best practices for the use of AI that adheres to UW security policies, staying current on industry standards, trends and updates to AI.
- Work collaboratively with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CATL) to assist with faculty training and integration of AI into their instructional practices.
- Facilitates professional development courses and/or programs and activities, and guides learning to align with existing curriculum.
- Assists with content development, prepares and updates instructional materials to align with unit objectives and strategy for training.
- Serves as a point of contact and communicates with program affiliates, audiences, and stakeholders providing information and answering questions based on established materials and standards.
- Assist the IT Service Desk with the creation and updating of documentation, communications and knowledge base articles.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, applicable field or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of general AI principles, algorithms, and/or tools
- Experience in the application of AI technologies, with a strong understanding of Generative AI
- Creative problem-solving abilities with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated experience in staying current with emerging trends and technologies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously to completion.

Conditions of Appointment
Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. The standard work hours for this position are 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule, subject to approved telecommuting request. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Compensation and Benefits
SALARY INFORMATION
Minimum salary of $55,000.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
BENEFIT DETAILS
The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.
In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
