Greater Green Bay Area Community
Green Bay is Wisconsin's third largest city (population of 107,015). Top employers include manufacturing (particularly paper products, equipment for the paper industry, metal fabricating and food products), services (particularly health care and insurance), transportation logistics, tourism and retailing. Green Bay hosts a foreign seaport and is also home to four-time NFL Super Bowl champions—the Green Bay Packers.
Green Bay and nearby communities have excellent schools. The area also has...
- well-maintained parks
- good public libraries
- public museums
- a wildlife sanctuary within the city
- a zoo
- a state historic park
- botanical gardens
We have a community that values your role in keeping it vibrant. Green Bay celebrates the diversity of its people, traditions and experiences. Green Bay is centrally located between the Midwest's major cities, with easy interstate travel and drive times (2 hours to Milwaukee, 2.5 hours to Madison, 3.5 hours to Chicago and 4.5 hours to St. Paul/Minneapolis). Green Bay is also the gateway to two areas of the state known for their natural beauty: the Door County peninsula and the "northwoods" country.
Green Bay is a warm and welcoming community where daytime temperatures range from 70's to the 90's in summer and the teens to the 40's in winter.
Passion to Help Students
"I want to give back to the community that believed in me. My passion is to help students from underrepresented backgrounds be successful during their college careers. Returning to UW-Green Bay as a staff member has been a wonderful experience. The campus community is like a close-knit family. Staff and faculty are here to help our students succeed, while also supporting each other. I truly love being part of the Phoenix family.”
