About James A. Temp
Mr. James A. Temp grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and parlayed a considerable amount of athletic ability into a star career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1957, he moved to Green Bay to embark on a four-season career as a Green Bay Packer. In 1973, Mr. Temp accepted a new challenge that has had repercussions for UW-Green Bay ever since.
The "challenge" was a new group, the Founders Association; its purpose was development of a philanthropic base for UW-Green Bay. James Temp served as Association president in 1980 and 1981. In 1984, he joined Donald J. Long, Sr., to take on yet another challenge on behalf of UW-Green Bay with chairmanship of the University's first capital campaign, an effort that raised more than $2.5 million.
In addition to his professional work as president of Alexander and Alexander of Wisconsin, James Temp serves in many community leadership roles with business organizations, civic groups and health agencies. He continues to work for UW-Green Bay as a director of the Founders Association and University Village Housing Inc.
