Impact of Giving
Your Gift
Matters
The need is real. The time is now.
You're in great company of the like-minded supporters of UW-Green Bay. Community members, retirees, alumni and businesses provide gifts to the UW-Green Bay Foundation, which in turn sustains the University and bolsters the value of a degree. Your gifts are investments in the future of the University and the students, faculty and staff who will shape the future of Wisconsin and the world.
Tuition & Tax Aren't Enough
Tuition and state funding alone can't cover the rising costs of higher education. UW-Green Bay's funding from the State of Wisconsin has gone from 90% to 23%, forcing the University to rely heavily on tuition and private donations. To maintain academic excellence and affordability, UW-Green Bay needs your support. Your gift helps fund vital programs, scholarships and facilities that aren't covered by state appropriations.

Fifty years ago, state funding covered 90% of UW-Green Bay's core educational costs.
2023-24

Prior to the 2013 state tuition freeze, state support was 22%—just over $2 of every $10 in the University's budget came from the state.
The Need is Great
At UW-Green Bay, scholarships are more important than ever before. For many talented and gifted people who dream of going to college, the financial resources may not be available to help them make that dream a reality. Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends like you, the UW-Green Bay Foundation has more than $1.5 million in scholarships available each year, which are awarded to more than 800 students annually.

Bridge the Gap
Jobs of today and careers of tomorrow are increasingly dependent on an education after high school.
The number of people who attend college in the region is far below the national average. Only 29% of residents in UW-Green Bay’s 16-county footprint have bachelor’s degrees; 33% in the State of Wisconsin and nationwide it’s 38%. With 70% of UW-Green Bay alumni living and working in Northeast Wisconsin, it's important that the University steps up to support the community.
