Energy Saving Methods

The Office of Facilities Planning and Management reminds campus users of these energy-saving measures:

  • Shut off your equipment at the end of the day, i.e. copiers, printers, personal computers, and personal task lighting.
  • Eliminate the use of incandescent and halogen table/floor lamps. Compact fluorescent lamps are available in many sizes to fit most table lamps. Special note: All touchier lamps are a severe fire hazard and should not be used on campus.
  • Turn off excess lighting when not in use.
  • Campus room temperatures will be set to 68 degrees in the winter and 76 degrees in the summer. Requests for any temperature adjustments will be determined on an individual basis.
