Todd Hillhouse
Addiction and pain are two devastating disorders that are not well understood and have limited treatment options. My laboratory is currently working on three projects. Project 1 evaluates the abuse-related and health risk effects of electronic-cigarettes. Project 2 evaluates the interaction between MDD and substance use disorder using preclinical models. The aim of project 3 is to Identify novel non-pharmacological and pharmacological for the treatment of acute and chronic pain to reduce the use of mu opioid agonist drugs like morphine. Dr. Hilllhouse enjoys working directly with undergraduate students in the laboratory, and will supervise research assistantships and independent studies.
