Professor Gaurav Bansal is the Frederick E. Baer Professor in Business at the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at UW-Green Bay. He earned his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems (MIS) from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 2008 and his M.B.A. from Kent State University, Ohio in 2002. He completed his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Gorakhpur, India in 1996. He currently serves as senior editor (SE) for Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research, and as associate editor (AE) for Journal of Midwest AIS. He is also on the editorial review board for Journal of Computer Information Systems. He has served as AE for several leading MIS conferences such as International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), and European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS). He has also chaired / co-chaired mini-track sessions at various Americas Conference for Information Systems (AMCIS) meetings on Human-Computer Interaction (Trust) and Privacy / Security issues. Professor Bansal served as conference chair for 7th Midwest AIS Conference 2012 hosted by UW-Green Bay. Professor Bansal teaches courses at graduate and undergraduate levels in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, and Management Information Systems. He was the Founding Chair / Academic Director of the online Master of Science in Data Science program at UW-Green Bay. Professor Bansal is passionate about undergraduate research. His students have presented their work at Wisconsin Capital Building in Madison, and also in Universities of Wisconsin's statewide research symposiums. His current research interests are in the areas of online trust, and privacy & security. Professor Bansal has published in premier MIS journals such as Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Information & Management (I&M), Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce (JOCEC), and Journal of Computer Information Systems (JCIS), among others. His research has won several accolades at national and international levels. His papers were nominated for the best paper award at AMCIS 2010, Peru and ICIS 2008, Paris, and received best paper awards at Midwest Association for Information Systems (MWAIS) conferences in 2010, 2011 and 2014. Professor Bansal was Wisconsin Teaching Fellow for the year 2011-2012. He is also a proud alum of Leadership Green Bay program (2010-2011), which is an initiative of Green Bay Chamber of Commerce. Before starting his academic career, he worked as Quality Assurance Engineer for General Motors India (1998-2000) and Daewoo Motors India (1996-1998).
