Learning Remotely

Remote Lab

Remote Lab offers students access to lab computers from a personal device with an internet connection.

You can access a campus Windows computer by logging into Remote Lab for Students and selecting a campus lab.

Student Login

We have a limited number of concurrent connections for Remote Lab, so we strongly recommend that students only use Remote Lab for special software application. We also recommend all Microsoft Office applications be accessed either via Office 365 online or through the Office 2019 download. See below for more details.

SPSS

For those students in courses that require SPSS software, we recommend that you use the UWGB SPSS website to download and install the software. Please know that SPSS will not work on a Chromebook.

MATLAB

Millions of engineers and scientists worldwide use MATLAB to analyze and design the systems and products transforming our world. The matrix-based MATLAB language is the world’s most natural way to express computational mathematics. Built-in graphics make it easy to visualize and gain insights from data.

Secure Your Account

With the University’s transition to Microsoft’s Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Tool, it’s easier now than ever to reset your password. With the SSPR Tool, students can unlock their accounts and change their passwords whenever they want – all without contacting the IT Service Desk! For more information, visit www.uwgb.edu/reset.

To use the SSPR Tool, students must first add verification methods to their account. To add your authentication methods, use the following link: https://aka.ms/ssprsetup. We strongly recommend setting up your authentication methods before your next password reset. Be sure to add two verification methods should one be compromised.

As always, if you have questions or receive an error message not covered in one of the above KBs, contact the IT Service Desk.
