Kris Vespia is the Director of UW-Green Bay’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL). She is a strong advocate for evidence-based pedagogies, the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), and teaching practices that are effective and welcoming for a wide range of students. She is also a Professor of Psychology and a counseling psychologist with an M.S. in Counseling (UW-Madison) and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (U of Iowa). Due to her full-time administrative role, she typically teaches only one course per semester or year. Most recently, that has been a capstone course related to mental health and mental illness and its treatment. Her research includes past publications related to teaching and learning, college student mental health, the intersection of mental health and culture, and career development.
