Practicum
Person-Centered,
Evidence-Based.
Our practica help forge your nursing skills.
Learn by doing—completing clinical experiences that span local hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community agencies. Our clinicals turn theory into practice, build your confidence and sharpen your skills. Watch your nursing abilities flourish, as you apply your knowledge and clinical judgment in diverse and challenging environments.
Unique Experiences
You'll complete 6 different practica throughout your time in the program. Why 6? A diverse range of experiences gives you the chance to broaden your skills and explore different career paths.
How Long?
During the first 4 semesters of the program, you'll spend about 8 to 12 hours per week at your practicum site. Then, in your final semester, you'll immerse yourself in the clinical environment spending 120 hours to prepare you for the transition to your nursing career.
Location
Because of our partnerships with local healthcare organizations, practicum locations are varied and multifaceted. Sites are located in the greater Green Bay area including hospitals, long term care, and community sites.

"I personally think the most important aspect to [note] would be the senior spring semester practicum placement – the professors work with hospitals ranging in great distance all around Wisconsin to accommodate students' wants and needs regarding hospitals and unit interests."
