Nicolet National Forest Bird Survey
Join Us for the Bird Survey
The 30th NNF Bird Survey will be held during the weekend of June 17-19, 2016, in the northern half of the forest. Headquarters will be at Trees for Tomorrow, a natural resource education center in the heart of Eagle River, WI. Lodging in dormitories, continental breakfasts Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday dinner will be provided free of charge for volunteers. Novice birders are matched up with experts so anyone interested in birds and conservation can participate.Volunteers work in teams to sample birds at permanent points representing the major habitat types within the eastern Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Special sets of easy-access sites will be available for birders who are not able to walk long distances or through difficult terrain.
