Elizabeth Bartz

Liz offers over ten years of diverse professional experience working in the area of Human Services and over seven years of experience teaching in higher education. Liz attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, double majoring in Human Development and Psychology. While completing her Bachelor’s degree, she began her career in the human services field as the Children’s Advocate at a domestic abuse and sexual assault support center. 

Liz obtained a Master of Science degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. As Liz began studying the field of counseling she included courses resulting in an emphasis in children with emotional and behavioral disturbances and their families, as well as a substance abuse specialty to compliment the counseling major. Liz served as a Program Manager and Therapist at a youth residential treatment facility for youth seeking treatment for substance abuse, sexual perpetration and abuse, and/or being court ordered for treatment for having entered the juvenile justice system. Liz also worked as a case manager for a county human service agency serving children receiving services through the autism waiver program and the state children’s waiver. Liz completed functional screening, as well as providing support and overview of each individual requiring state funded services.

Liz also served as the county's Outreach Prevention Specialist. This position included but was not limited to: providing crisis intervention services, completing initial assessments, functional screens and referrals to mental health and substance abuse treatment, case management and waiver programs, certifying and renewing adult family homes, reviewing settlement agreements and commitments and serving on the safety committee organizing and providing training opportunities within the agency and the community.

Liz also began teaching general studies psychology courses part-time for both Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and Fox Valley Technical College. Liz eventually left the county and devoted her time specifically to teaching psychology and human service courses at the technical colleges. In fall of 2017, Liz began working with UW-Green Bay’s Behavioral Health Training Partnership primarily training the three Crisis Core trainings as well as facilitating special skills and topics trainings. In June of 2018, Liz became a full-time trainer and development specialist with the partnership.
