Course Description

In this session, participants will learn about the foundations of grief, including the variety of losses and grief reactions, grieving styles, specific types of grief, ways to cope with grief and the importance of self-care when supporting grievers.

About Your Trainer

Erica Srinivasan
Erica Srinivasan, PhD

Dr. Erica G. Srinivasan is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse, where she also serves as the Director for the Center for Grief and Death Education, and is Co-Chair for the Gerontology Emphasis. Additionally, she is the lead instructor in the University of Wisconsin—Madison’s Grief Support Specialist Certificate Program. She conducts research on loss, grief, dementia, aid-in-dying and death education and has a passion for normalizing conversations about death and grief, which serves as a foundation for all of her professional work.
