Both of these species are cultivated in our area and very rarely escape, usually near planted individuals.
6. Buds both sticky and shiny; leaflets abruptly tapered to the tip, the broadest portion of each leaflet clearly closer to the tip than to the base; flowers primarily white; some leaves with 7-9 leaflets (but some may have 5--look carefully at the shape of the leaflets as described above).

6. Buds not sticky or shiny; leaflets gradually tapered to the tip, the broadest portion of each leaflet near the middle of its length; flowers primarily yellow; leaves with 5 leaflets.
