1. Sterile leaves four ranked and of two types,
with larger leaves on two opposing sides of the stem and smaller leaves
on the other 2 sides; larger leaves less than 2 mm long, bright, light
green; usually in moist, sunny and often calcareous sites; spores borne
in flattened strobili near the tip of the stems, each strobilus not much
different from the rest of the stem. |
