Pimpinella saxifraga is an herbaceous perennial up to about 2-3 feet tall with compound umbels of small white flowers and pinnately compound (sometimes twice-compound) leaves. It is probably often overlooked, because of its superficial similarity to the very common and abundant wild carrot (Daucus carota). The distribution map is a very poor indication of the plants distribution--widely in door County and probably thorughout NE Wisconsin and perhaps throughout the state.
