Euphorbia cyparissias is a clonal herbaceous species of sunny sites. It is most prominent in road rights-of-way and in abandoned fields, but it also invades native grasslands and barrens. It is very difficult to remove once it has become well established. The leaves are long, and narrow and the sap is white and sticky and is reported to be potentially toxic.
