Echium vulgare in Wisconsin is an introduced weed of disturbed, sunny and usually dry sites. The flowers are blue and irregularly horn-shaped with conspicuously exserted stamens (5) and style (1). Stems are green, often with small purple spots and stiff, somewhat bristly hairs. Its distribution in the state is localized as shown on the map, with many of the records from Door, Manitowoc and eastern Brown Counties, and another center in Kettle Moraine State Forest area.
