Each year, the Pride Center selects interns to support the Pride Centers on all four campuses. These interns are individuals with strong commitments to the continued empowerment of underrepresented students, dedication to cultural awareness and responsibility for personal growth.
La Force Foundation Legacy Intern
Pride Center La Force Foundation Legacy interns are responsible for supporting a learning environment that contributes to student development. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to the continued empowerment of underrepresented students, dedication to cultural awareness, and responsibility for personal growth. Work experiences in the Pride Center are best suited to folks who are willing to develop positive relationships with groups and individuals. Applicants who are comfortable in multi-cultural environments and enjoy learning from new and challenging experiences are usually well suited for these positions. If you are selected as an applicant, you will be interviewed by Pride Center Coordinator: Nicole Kurth and her staff. All Pride Center applicants who are hired must complete a successful background check prior to employment. Your references will be contacted. Each applicant will be informed of the final decision concerning their application.
Academic Year Positions
Pride Center Interns
Work 10 hours per week in the Pride Center. Serve as a mentor and resource person in the Pride Center. Attend multiple events throughout the academic year. Mandatory staff orientation training is required prior to employment. Ongoing mandatory training will take place throughout the academic year. This position is open to any current UW-Green Bay student. We have Pride Center Interns at all four campus locations: Green Bay, Manitowoc, Marinette and Sheboygan. We have some paid positions, positions for class credit (speak with your academic advisor to set-up), and volunteer positions. The hourly rate of pay for paid Pride Center Internships is: $12.25 per hour (10 hours per week).
MSW/Graduate Student Pride Center Interns
Work 16 hours per week in the Pride Center. This position is open to any current UW-Green Bay MSW or Graduate level student. In addition to completing the above responsibilities of the Pride Center Interns, MSW Pride Center Interns also participate in special projects such as working with LGBTQIA2S+ youth at the Green Bay Boys & Girls Club. This position also on bigger Pride Center programs like: Annual Hallowqueen Drag Show as well as assisting with community outreach programs and Safe Ally Training. The hourly rate of pay for paid MSW/Graduate Student Pride Center Internships is: $12.50 per hour (10 hours per week).
Pride Center Graduate Assistant
Work 20 hours per week in the Pride Center. This position is open to any current UW-Green Bay MSW or Graduate student. The Pride Center Graduate Assistant fulfills work duties of interns in addition to working closely on special projects with the Pride Center Coordinator and MSW/Graduate Student Pride Center Interns. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to switch from one task to another. The Pride Center Graduate Assistant serves as a mentor to both the Pride Center staff and students. This position comes with insurance and a paid stipend each semester.
Summer Positions
Summer Pride Center Interns
Work 10 hours per week in the Pride Center on the Green Bay campus. This position is open to any current UW-Green Bay student. The Summer Pride Center Intern assists with programming – including attending events during Pride Month in June. This position works closely with the Pride Center Coordinator to determine Pride Center programming for the Fall semester. This position will work on special projects and summer events on the Green Bay campus. The hourly rate of pay for paid Pride Center Internships is: $12.25 per hour (10 hours per week).
