Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships are available through the UW-Green Bay Office of Graduate Studies and the First Nations Education Doctoral program. In addition, you may be eligible for scholarships from the organizations listed below. To ensure you qualify and to access application materials, view the organization's website.
Native Forward Scholars Fund
Deadlines vary
In order to qualify, you must:
- Be enrolled full time in an accredited college or university
- Demonstrate Tribal affiliation through Tribal Eligibility Certificate – many require tribal enrollment or ¼ degree blood
- Meet the specific eligibility requirements as outlined for each opportunity
American Indian College Fund (AICF)
Applications open January 1 - May 31
In order to qualify, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be enrolled full time in an accredited college or university
- Be registered as an enrolled member or a descendant of at least one grandparent or parent who is an enrolled Tribal member
- Have a 2.0 GPA or greater
National Indian Education Association (NIEA)
Deadlines vary

Catching the Dream
Deadlines for upcoming semesters: March 15, April 30, September 15
Founded in 1986, Catching the Dream strives to help improve the quality of life in Indigenous communities through the education of Indigenous individuals. Students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership abilities and the desire to give back to their communities are eligible for scholarship funds.
Cobell Scholarship
Deadline: March 31
Both merit-based and need-based, the competitive Cobell Scholarship is annual, non-renewable and available to any post-secondary (after high school) student who is:
- Enrolled as a member of a US Federally-Recognized Tribe.
- Enrolled in full time study in an accredited non-profit, public and private, institution.
- Pursuing a vocational certificate or diploma, associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral or professional degree or certificate.
