Get the books and course materials you need to be successful in class. You can save money by buying used books, renting your books or shopping around for your best price. Just be sure to get the right edition (check that the ISBN matches) and buy from a reputable source.
Phoenix Bookstore
The Phoenix Bookstore is UW-Green Bay's official source for text books, Phoenix apparel, school supplies and much more. Shop in person on the Green Bay campus, located on the 2nd floor of the University Union, or shop online.
How do I know which books I need?
The fastest, easiest and most accurate way to get a complete list of all your course materials is from your SIS account. This will bring you directly to the Phoenix Bookstore website and show you what course materials you need with a couple simple clicks.
- Log in to SIS.
- Scroll down to "Student Links."
- Click on the "Order Textbooks" link.
- This takes you to the Phoenix Bookstore site where the required and recommended books for your classes will be displayed.
Find books on the Phoenix Bookstore website
You can also search textbooks for all your courses right on the Phoenix Bookstore website.
- Go to the Textbooks Page
- Select your campus and term you wish to order books for.
- Enter the course name, number, and section for each class—like this: ART 106 0001. Find this info in your SIS.
- Click the "Find Materials" button. The required and recommended books for the requested classes will be displayed.
Find books using the Class Schedule
You can also find the textbooks required for your courses using the schedule of classes.
- Go to the Schedule of Classes.
- Enter the term and other search criteria and click "Show Classes."
- Click on the class title of the class you're interested in to bring up the "Schedule of Classes - Detail" screen.
- Click on "View Book Information" to the right of "Course Materials."

Green Bay Campus
Once you have your list of classes, you can purchase your textbooks and course materials in person or online:
Option 1: Buy In Person
Purchase your textbooks in person at the Phoenix Bookstore on the Green Bay campus, located on the 2nd floor of the University Union.
- Bring your class schedule to the store and the staff will help you find the correct books.
- Payment options: cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, Phlash Cash and Financial Aid/Scholarship (SIS)*
Option 2: Order Online
You can order your books online through the Phoenix Bookstore Textbooks Page. The quickest and easiest way is to first go to your SIS account, where the "Order Textbooks" link will take you directly to your materials list in the Phoenix Bookstore website. The steps to do this are described above. From here, you may have options for some classes, like rentals, digital versions, new, or used. Make your selections and add them to your cart.
Log in to SIS- Payment options: Apple Pay, PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Phlash Cash, Financial Aid/Scholarship (SIS)*
- Pick-up In-store: Free
- Shipping fees: $7.50 and higher depending on type of shipping.
*SIS payment requires your student ID.
SIS payments are available for a few weeks prior to and into the start of each semester and require your student ID. If you need a student ID card, you may purchase one at the University Ticketing and Information booth before you come to the store. For online orders, you will need the last 9 digits of your student ID number to complete your purchase.

Once you have your list of classes, you can place your textbook order online.

For free shipping, select the ship to campus option, then choose your campus. Your books will be shipped to your campus’s library. You can also have your books shipped to the Green Bay Campus for free pickup there. Alternatively, you may pay to have them shipped to your home address.
Pop-up Booths
Watch for Phoenix Bookstore pop-up booths on the Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan Campuses. The beginning of each semester the booth will be a spirit store and at the end of each semester it will be a book rental return and buyback booth. Spirit booths will offer an assortment of popular merchandise for anyone to purchase. Rental return and buyback booths will offer a convenient location to check in rental returns and buy back textbooks for cash. Both mobile booths will be located outside the library for each of the three additional campus locations.
Book Rental Program
Books can be purchased or rented in-person at the Phoenix Bookstore on the Green Bay campus, or through Phoenix Bookstore online store. You can use cash, check, credit card or your SIS account to pay for books. Fees to your SIS account must be paid by the fee due date or late fees will apply. Keep an eye on your email inbox—due date notifications will be sent to you. If you do not have enough financial aid to cover all of your charges including Phlash Cash, you will be put on the payment plan. See the book rental information.
Rental Returns
Rental Returns can happen one of four ways:
- In-Person: Stop into the Phoenix Bookstore on the Green Bay Campus to return your items in person.
- Drop Bins: Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan campus students can drop materials off in the Phoenix Bookstore drop bin at each campus location. Instructions for rental returns are located on the top of the drop bin.
- Ship Materials: Ship the materials back to the Phoenix Bookstore on the Green Bay Campus.
- Finals Week Booth: Return your rental books during finals week when the Phoenix Bookstore hosts a rental return and buy-back booth during finals week at the Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan campuses.
Can I return a textbook if I drop a class?
You can return a textbook if you a drop class. For your reference, there is a deadline each semester to return textbooks. A receipt is required and all items must be in original purchase condition. Contact the Phoenix Bookstore, (920) 391-6600, for deadline dates.
Book Buyback
The Phoenix Bookstore gives you the chance all year round to sell your books back for cash.
Students can participate in the buyback program in one of three ways:
- Finals Week Booth: You can sell your books back when the Phoenix Bookstore hosts a rental return and buyback booth during finals week at each of the Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan campuses.
- In-Person: Stop into the Phoenix Bookstore on the Green Bay campus at any time to sell books.
- Online: Sell textbooks online with Valore, a wholesaler that the Phoenix Bookstore partners with. Find a link to sell your books online on the Phoenix Bookstore Sell Your Books page.
