It's more than just a place to live.
Choosing where to live can be a very personal decision. You might like a place that's closer to your classes or the fitness center. Maybe you love having a view from your third floor window. Most people just want to live near their friends. Whatever you choose, our room selection process is designed to give you the choice in where to live.
Room Selection Process
The room selection process looks a little bit different if you're a new student to UW-Green Bay, are a current on-campus resident returning for a future semester (you have priority selection), or an upperclass student who is new to living on campus, but not new to UW-Green Bay. When you complete the housing application and contract, we will ask you to provide your preferences. However, we only use this if you don't select your own room. We want you to choose where you live! Depending upon when you apply and your class standing, you will have a range of housing options and locations available to select from.
First Year & Transfer Students
1 Apply for Housing
The first step is to complete your Housing application. Go online to the Housing Hub to review the contract, provide information about community interests, and submit $75 non-refundable Housing fee. Starts October 1, 2024. In order to participate in initial room selection, your application must be complete by May 5, 2025 at noon.
2Roommate Grouping
This is not a required step, but if you're interested, you can fill out a short questionnaire and be able to search for roommates with similar interests to yours. If you already have people you want to room with, share your webscreen name from the Housing Hub for them to invite/select you as a roommate. Everyone needs to have a completed contract in order to create roommate group and you will only be able to create a roommate group with other first year/transfer students. Additionally, everyone has to review and accept roommate invites in order to create a roommate group. Roommate matching is available immediately after completing the application for First Year and Transfer Students and closes on May 5, 2025 at noon.
