ABOUT WOMEN'S, GENDER & SEXUALITY STUDIES
Learning Without
Limits
We draw students from all disciplines and backgrounds.
Our program attracts an incredibly wide range of students from different backgrounds, with different experiences and career goals. And, because our program draws across disciplines, including psychology, history, economics and biology, students come from a broad number of majors, too. That means you’ll learn alongside (and from!) people with different perspectives and experiences.
Internships
Gender studies offers two internships on campus, but you can also find opportunities throughout the community to apply your skills and make an impact as an undergraduate. Some common internship sites are family violence centers, arts organizations, historical organizations, political advocacy groups, media projects and women’s health centers in the area.

"Growing up, I saw a lot of women in my life be treated in ways that did not sit right with me and that all started at a very young age, so I knew that this was the right time for me to push my alliance and commitment to serve those who are vulnerable. In terms of my career... for being a male social worker, it has provided me with the tools necessary to work in a field that primarily is made up of women."
