Education Minor
Enrich Your Potential
Enrich your major, and career goals, with an education minor.
Ready to tackle middle or high school teaching? Pair your major with a minor in education—applicable to all subjects except science. The education minor offers four emphases, each designed to equip you with essential teaching skills such as classroom management, assessment techniques, and understanding educational theories.
Choose Your Emphasis
With personal attention from acclaimed professors, classroom experiences early on and student teaching placements throughout the world, you'll be ready to become a teacher and inspire your students.
English as Second Language (Grades PK-12)
Like our major emphasis in this subject, you'll gain skills in teaching English as a Second Language. This minor emphasis is different, however, because you'll have a focus in a different subject area, like biology or French.
Teaching Mathematics (Grades 4-12)
Math is more than just numbers and equations; it is about recognizing patterns, solving puzzles and developing critical thinking skills.
Teaching Music, Art or World Languages (Grades PK-12)
No matter which aspect of this emphasis you choose, your work will focus on helping students express themselves.
Teaching Social Studies or ELA (Grades 4-12)
Social studies chronicles the stories of the human race, while ELA (English Language Arts) focuses on stories created by the human race. Become a teacher in either subject through this emphasis.
