Career Planning Workshops & Practice Interview Days

Attending job fairs, workshops and other events provides more real-world experiences and skills than what you learn in your classes. Most importantly, you can get connected with people in your field – maybe you’ll even meet your future boss.

Wisconsin Banking Association: Careers in Banking Panel
Tuesday, September 19 • 11 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. • Alumni Room
Join the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) and the Cofrin School of Business to learn about careers within the banking industry. You will hear from a panelist of local professionals working in northeastern Wisconsin and have the opportunity for one on one networking with each panelist while enjoying a light lunch. Registration is strongly encouraged, however not required. All UW- Green Bay students are welcome to attend! Register by September 11th here.
Mentoring Project Kickoff Dinner

This event is for mentees and mentors who are participating in the Mentoring Project this year, a program that matches first gen students with community members for mentorship throughout the year. First gen students in the CSB and select other majors can sign up to get a mentor here.
Innovation On-Ramp Weekly Workshops
Wednesdays from September 18 - October 16 • 4 p.m. - 5 p.m • Zoom
Innovation On-Ramp is a FREE non-credit 5-week crash course in innovating, open to any UWGB student. Participants start by identifying problems worth solving, and by the end they’ve developed a pitch deck ready to present their innovative idea. Students from all majors are welcome! Schneider Speaking Series

Financial Planning Day

This day-long event, hosted by the Charles Schwab Center for Financial Wellness, provides company representatives and financial planning students with a structured opportunity to get to know each other and mutually advance their aspirational career objectives, plus the opportunity to learn from panels and a Keynote speaker. Join us for a company tour of Marine Travelift! “Since we were founded in 1954, Marine Travelift has always built the most innovative boat handling equipment. Fall Elevator Pitch

Every savvy job seeker has a personal elevator pitch to use during quick encounters with hiring officials at job fairs, during networking events, or a chance meeting someplace else. An "elevator pitch" is a carefully crafted message designed to explain your strengths, abilities, and goals to a professional or business executive. The catch is that it must be given in the time that it takes to ride up an elevator – 60 seconds or less! Following the elevator pitch competition, there will be an opportunity for all attendees to network with professionals from the Green Bay community attending the competition. Quick Pitch
Wednesday, April 30 • Afternoon • Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, CL504
WiSys Quick Pitch is a research-focused student pitch competition that inspires Universities of Wisconsin students to consider the impact of their research and learn how to effectively communicate it to a general audience. Participants have three minutes to impress a panel of judges with their ability to explain the value of their research to society. The top presenters win cash prizes and secure a spot in the Quick Pitch State Final. See details and register here.
