Cultivate Your Artistic Voice
Observe and analyze the world around you as you create.
Art is much more than the product of brushes or lenses, of kilns or forges. Through art, we’re able to make a difference, face societal issues and understand the world. At UW-Green Bay, you’ll become part of a community of artists who challenge each other and are eager to learn and grow together. The program is designed for you to emerge well-rounded and ready to take on what's next!
Spark Success
As an art major, you'll develop marketable skills in fields like arts management, illustration, education, business and more.
be Inspired
Learn from the experts! In addition to nationally recognized faculty, visiting artists give lectures and critiques and conduct workshops. Our artist-in-residence helps you develop your creative techniques.
Get Involved
Exhibitions and internships and clubs, oh my! College isn't only about going to class–especially as an art major.
Immerse Yourself
You’ll have the choice between three emphases as an art major:
- Studio Art explores the cultural and personal motivation behind our need to create and develops your skills as an artist.
- Art Education sets the stage for a successful career as an art teacher.
- Pre-Art Therapy prepares you for graduate programs in professional mental health counseling, with specialization in Art Therapy.
Also, there are two art minor emphases of Studio Art and Art History, which can nurture your passion and complement a major like business or marketing.
Connect. Develop. Grow.
"When I took a tour of UW-Green Bay, I was struck by the connections the staff had with one another and the students. While the campus is smaller, it offered a tighter knit feel and more one-on-one learning opportunities... there [is] more hands-on learning and time to develop your craft. There are opportunities outside of the immediate campus to grow from such as my study abroad trip to Italy."
